About

Ruth Wilde Brophy is a photographer living in Caherdaniel village in South West Kerry. Ruth uses her eye for photography to capture the ever-changing beauty of Derrynane. Caherdaniel, although it is a small rural village, it has a thriving community at it’s heart. Ruth and her camera tell the story of the locals, the ‘blowcals’ and the ‘blow-ins’, capturing the characters and atmosphere of local life. Ruth lived in Australia for 7 years but decided to return to Caherdaniel in 2018. Ruth has traveled the world but no place could trump the spirit and beauty of Derrynane, her home.
